Being powerful sounds aggressive, but it doesn’t need to be. People who are powerful often appear to be in charge simply because they know and understand their own power. People want to be leaders, and need to be a strong and powerful leader to do it well. We are often credited for being powerful, yet we think of other ways in which we can be powerful without force. Being powerful can come easily to people who know what they are made of. People who are leading have opinions and expertise in addition to a vision which helps them to complete the plan. Think of people being powerful in a military situation, employing strength and challenges beyond what they cannot see…this is where their power builds.
We are powerful in the spaces and places where we have to be strong and courageous. It doesn’t mean that we need be that way in every part of our lives. I believe that if you study yourself, and recognize the strength and the power you have, you may be surprised by just how much courage and insight you already have. You are being powerful in a different way.
Take some time and think about other ways and in other spaces where you feel powerful. Most of us have powerful gifts, and over time, some of those gifts may change. The thing to remind yourself is that you are more powerful than you know. Keep that thought close to your heart and be true to yourself.
